Prof. Dr. Xaioxi Wang

Dr. Xiaoxi Wang is currently a tenured Associate Professor at Department of Agricultural Economics and Management, Zhejiang University and China Academy for Rural Development, and Guest Senior Scientist at Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) in Germany, Honorary Research Associate at Environmental Change Institute (ECI) at University of Oxford in UK. His research field includes Agricultural Economics, Resource and Environmental Economics, Food Systems, Economic Modeling, Integrated Assessment Modeling, Climate Mitigation and Adaptation, and Agricultural Trade. He has published peer-review articles in high ranking journals including Nature Food, Nature Aging, Nature Sustainability, Nature Water, Lancet Planetary Health, World Development, Ecological Economics, JEEM. He is a core member of a modeling team at PIK, which develops a global agro-economic land system model– MAgPIE (Model of Agricultural Production and its Impact on the Environment). He leads MAgPIE-China Research Group and the developments of MAgPIE-China , a China country-specific model of MAgPIE. From November 2021, he serves as Affiliated Editor at World Development.
